Not YourFather's
In at the start of Not Your Father's Root Beer: hand-made tap handles, the wooden intro boxes that carried the first samples into the world, and a hand in shaping the brand that Pabst went on to buy.

- The start
Not Your Father's Root Beer came out of Small Town Brewery, a small operation with a big idea: a hard root beer that tasted like the real thing. I was in early enough that the brand was still being figured out, and a lot of the first physical pieces came out of my hands.
- The tap handles
Before there was a production run, there were the originals: tap handles made by hand, engraved with the ship, the wordmark, and the man with the barrel, so the first bars pouring it had something worth looking at.
- The boxes
The intro boxes were how the brand introduced itself to the world. Wooden, stained, laser-etched with the Small Town ship and cut with stars along the side, each one carried product samples and more to the people who needed to taste it first.
- The result
Not Your Father's went from a small-town brewery to the fastest-growing beer brand in the country, and the brand was eventually purchased by Pabst Brewing Company.
