HomeDepot
Project Lab, a maker portal for Home Depot: a place on their site for people to share builds step by step, talk shop, and turn every project into a materials list. UX, design, and build.

- The idea
Home Depot sells everything a maker needs and had nowhere for makers to show what they made with it. Project Lab is that place: part portfolio, part community, built for people who build things. Post a project, walk through the steps, and every build comes with a materials list you can pick up in store.
- The design
Dark, warm, and built like a shop wall: pegboard, hanging prints, hand-lettered tags. The system stays out of the way of the builds. Cards carry the three numbers a maker cares about, cost, time, and steps, and a difficulty meter so a beginner knows where to start.
- The build
Three surfaces, one system: Builds, a filterable feed of projects; Community, a talk-shop board with makers to follow and in-store build nights; and How sharing works, a three-step pitch that gets a first post up in about ten minutes. Designed and coded end to end, light and dark, ready to sit under the Home Depot header.
