If you've walked Chicago's neighborhoods you've crossed paths with JC Rivera's work. His Bear Champ, a battle-worn boxing bear with tired eyes and an unbreakable spirit, has murals in Miami, Barcelona, London, and Hong Kong and collaborations with Adidas, American Express, and McDonald's.
- The build
JC wanted a digital hub for his Web3 presence, centered on the $BCHAMP token on the XRP Ledger. Beyond an info page, visitors needed to feel the Bear Champ world, so a mobile-first browser brawler was built into the site using custom artwork drawn from his visual language: the Champ in the ring against a grey Contender, scrappy and always swinging.
- What's next
The mini game is the training montage. JC is making a serious move into gaming, building toward a full game inside Otherside, the Yuga Labs metaverse, as it rolls out its in-game economy. The main event is coming.
